LIMA AND MAGICAL CUSCO

DAY 1. CITY OF ORIGIN – LIMA | MEALS:
Arrival in the city of Lima, assistance and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Lima.

DAY 2. LIMA – CITY TOUR | MEALS: B.
An exclusive and comprehensive tour of Lima’s Historic Center will allow us to discover and admire the architectural treasures that are part of the old Lima, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The experience begins at the Convent of Santo Domingo. Its construction began during the foundation of Lima, and it was the place where the University of San Marcos, the oldest university in the Americas, was established. Inside the convent, time seems to have stood still. The choir, the oldest choir stalls in the country, and the library, which houses 25,000 Dominican books, some printed as early as the 15th century, are of invaluable historical importance.
The Convent of Santo Domingo was visited by the saints of Lima and is now the resting place of the remains of **Saint Martin de Porres, Saint John Macías, and Saint Rose of Lima.
We will then walk toward Lima Cathedral, crossing the Main Square, facing the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace. We will enter the Cathedral, a jewel of religious art and an important part of Lima’s history. Inside, its works of art will take us back to the different moments that Lima experienced throughout the past.
We will then head to the Larco Museum, located approximately 30 minutes from Lima’s Historic Center. The museum has been recognized by Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards as one of the 25 best museums in the world. Its various galleries showcase the beauty and richness of the cultures of ancient Peru. The museum’s storage area is particularly impressive for the vast number of artifacts representing faces, objects, fruits, birds, and other elements that were part of everyday life.

DAY 3. LIMA / CUSCO / CITY TOUR + ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK | MEALS: B.
Transfer to the airport for our flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the morning will be free for acclimatization.
In the afternoon, we will explore the imperial city of Cusco. We will ascend to the **Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuamán** and begin our excursion by visiting the fortress of the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace and tranquility. We will admire the enormous stones, some reaching up to 4 meters in height, which were used in its construction.
We will continue to Q’enqo, an ancient Puma temple where an altar used for sacrifices can be seen inside a huge rock, and then to Tambomachay, known for its sacred fountains associated with life and health.
Along the way, we will enjoy a panoramic view of Puca Pucará, a lookout point that once guarded the entrance to the city.
We will then visit the Temple of the Sun, Qorikancha, over which the Convent of Santo Domingo was later built. According to legend, this temple was once completely covered with sheets of gold, astonishing the Spanish conquerors upon their arrival.
Finally, we will visit the Main Square of Cusco and enter the Cathedral, which houses invaluable colonial works of art and paintings, including the Cross that arrived with the first Spanish conquerors.

DAY 4. CUSCO / MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO | MEALS: B, L.
We will head to the Poroy or Ollantaytambo train station, depending on the season, where we will board the train to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World
We will arrive at Machu Picchu Pueblo, where our staff will assist us in boarding the bus that will take us up along a winding road, offering spectacular views of the Urubamba River and the famous canyon it has carved through the mountains.
The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will welcome us with its incredible terraces, stairways, ceremonial structures, and urban areas. The energy and majesty of this extraordinary place can be felt throughout the site.
After the guided tour, we will descend to the town and enjoy lunch at Café Inkaterra Restaurant.
At the scheduled time, we will return by train and be transferred to the hotel in Cusco.

DAY 5. CUSCO | MEALS: B.
At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to board our departure flight.
